Mobility for a lifetime.
We help amputees, like you, regain their mobility by providing custom prosthetic solutions that feel great and allow you to start enjoying your life again.
Help every step of the way
We understand that becoming an amputee is never on anyoneโs bucket list. Losing a part of your body brings challenges not only physically but also mentally and emotionally, and as you progress in this journey, you will undoubtedly have more questions. Having a reliable team who listens, understands, and can support you in those moments is critical for you to move forward positively along this journey.
From your surgery onward, we are by your side for every step of the way. We are there to answer your questions following your amputation and provide you with a device to protect your residual limb. We visit you multiple times while you are in the hospital and while you are going through rehabilitation. We attend your surgical follow-up appointments to be your advocate and make sure you are progressing forward to regain your mobility.
You are not alone.
Navigating life as an amputee can be overwhelming, and you donโt have to go through it alone. In addition to having patient advocates that are happy to share their experiences and how they have overcome any challenges they faced, several members of our Optimus Team are amputees themselves and can speak firsthand about what has helped them. Either way, let us help you regain your mobility and peace of mind.
Patient Experiences
โWe found this office after many, many terrible experiences at other facilities. We were BLOWN away! Our commute is about an hour but I'd happily drive further for the experience. We love you guys so much! Thank you for all you do for us!โ

โThis organization has shown me support that I never imagined possible, from the reminder calls to the loaner policy on Prosthetics hardware. Their bedside manner and in office service is unmatched!โ

โI have had several failures in the past with prosthetics for a Symmes amputation. I am walking now for the first time in 5 years with out any blisters or anything injuring my stump! I even got to design my own graphics for my prosthetic. Thanks OPTIMUS....we started out as patient and prothetic provider, but now I consider all of you as my family!โ

โI was a unique case and didnโt think I would ever be able to use a prosthetic. Thanks to Sara being a miracle worker, Iโm now able to walk for the first time in three years. Sara is absolutely amazing! Matter fact, the whole staff was awesome and makes you feel like family. If ever in need, I would highly recommend it Optimus.โ

FAQs

Once you are healed and cleared by your surgeon, we can start the fitting process. Typically, from your initial evaluation to your prosthesis delivery, the process takes about 6-8 weeks.
-
The type of prosthesis that you receive depends on a number of factors like your activity and mobility prior to your amputation, which are all assessed in our initial evaluation. Based on that evaluation, we will discuss with you what options would be best. We provide prosthesis for all levels of amputations, so we can work with you to find what is right for you.
-
Yes! If you can provide us with a piece of fabric with a design you like, we can use that fabric for your prosthesis. Typically, patients will bring in t-shirts for this. We have even made glitter and glow-in-the-dark prosthesis for patients before. However, if you prefer to have it match your skin tone or simply be the color of the carbon fiber we use, we are happy with whatever you choose.
-
We accept most insurance providers. We work diligently on behalf of our patients to make sure insurance covers as much as possible if not all.
-
If you would like to talk to one of our patients that has already gone through the process, we are happy to connect you with one. Additionally, depending on your location, there are great support groups, like the Byonic Limb Loss Group in Columbus. We will work with you to make sure you have the resources and support you need throughout the process.

You should be checking your skin daily. While redness is normal, it should go away within 15-20 minutes. If the redness does not go away or skin breakdown occurs, please stop wearing your prosthesis and call to make an appointment. If you are having issues after normal business hours, you can always call our office and reach a clinician who is on call.
