Optimus Prosthetics is Now an Approved O&P Residency Site
We have some exciting news to share. Optimus Prosthetics has officially been approved as a residency site through OPRESCAS, the centralized application system for orthotics and prosthetics residencies in the United States.
This is a milestone we're incredibly proud of, and one that reflects the caliber of care and clinical expertise our team has built over the years across our Dayton, Columbus, and Cincinnati locations.
What Does This Mean?
In the field of orthotics and prosthetics, earning a master's degree is only the first step. Before graduates can become fully licensed and board-certified prosthetists and orthotists, they must complete a supervised clinical residency, much like physicians do after medical school. These residencies are rigorous, highly regulated, and can only be hosted by practices that meet strict national standards.
Being approved as a residency site means Optimus has been recognized as a practice where that level of training can happen, where the clinical environment, the expertise of our team, and our commitment to patient outcomes meet the bar required to develop the next generation of practitioners.
Why We Pursued This
Orthotics and prosthetics is a field that changes lives. Every prosthetist and orthotist working today had someone who believed in the importance of training them well, and we want to be that for someone else.
Our team has always been committed to raising the standard of care in Ohio. Becoming a residency site is an extension of that. It is our way of giving back to a profession we love and ensuring that patients across the country continue to have access to highly skilled, well-trained clinicians for years to come.
For Current and Future Patients
Our patients will continue receiving the same care from our fully licensed, experienced team. If anything, this designation is a reflection of the standard you have already come to expect from us.
For O&P Graduate Students
If you are completing your master's degree in orthotics and prosthetics and looking for a residency with a team that is serious about the work and invested in your growth, we would love to hear from you.
Applications are accepted through OPRESCAS.
